Soil, Water, and Related Natural Resource Conservation
Welcome to the Oswego County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) website.
Our objective is to carry out a program of soil, water, and related natural resource conservation, by providing technical assistance and programs to residents, landowners, and units of government.
We are an authorized Oswego County agency and a political subdivision of New York State. The SWCD was formed by an act of the Oswego County Legislature in October of 1945.
We offer a wide variety of programs for Oswego County residents.
We’re Hiring! ~ Now Accepting Applications for an Environmental Resource Technician!
This is a full-time, permanent position associated with a mandatory probationary period. In general, this individual will work with landowners, various groups and municipalities to offer technical assistance and carry out projects in order to address resource concerns with a focus on water quality. Assistance and projects may be associated with stormwater, Best Management Practices (BMPs), ponds, flooding/drainage, erosion and sediment control, agriculture, or other conservation related topics on private lands, municipal properties and farms. This position will include both field and office work, and requires a self-motivated individual interested in career development and growth.
